In 2011, The Mattress & Sleep Company had grown to the point where our own on-site warehousing was simply not adequate to keep up with demand. At that time, we made the decision to move to a distribution centre model with off-site warehousing. When we made this decision, we opted to create a retail business operation that tied into our warehouse.

We believe this is the most efficient way to run a warehouse as the cost of rent, even in an industrial area, is very expensive today. Unlike our competition, we're able to keep our operating costs very low. In fact, we may be one of the only mattress stores in Canada that actually generates a profit from our warehouse. This ensures our pricing remains competitive, even against the big box retailers and prevents us from passing on the cost of warehousing, unlike our competitors.

We also understand that each individual has a budget. Because The Mattress & Sleep Company is committed to offering the highest quality mattresses, we realize that sometimes our mattress pricing might not meet some budgets. By allowing MDC to operate as a fully separate business, we're able to offer affordable, entry-level sleep sets in a low overhead environment. In fact, most mattress discounters are unable to compete with the pricing found at MDC.

The Mattress & Sleep Company trusts that our customers will understand the need to have two separate businesses with two separate goals. This allows for us to offer the best solutions for every need and every budget and allows our team members at both TMASC and MDC to focus on becoming experts in their specific segment of the mattress industry.
