St. Geneve's organic cotton sheeting is the absolutely highest quality, top of the range organic cotton fabric available anywhere in the world today. Grown in Israel, certified organic, woven in Italy and then cut and sewn
right here in Canada.
Organic cotton certified by PPIS. PPIS is a National Standard for Organically grown plants and their products, instilled and monitored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the State of Israel.
Genuine Giza 70 Egyptian Cotton
Although nearly every sheet package off the shelf today will say "Egyptian Cotton", you'll notice the percentage is conspicuously missing. The simple fact is that sheeting will be
labelled as "Egyptian Cotton" when the cotton was either grown in Egypt (keeping in mind most cotton grown in Egypt is actually American Uplands Cotton) or by simply blending in one or two percent
genuine Egyptian Cotton species with common American Uplands.
Genuine Italian Fabric
Nearly every fabric we offer from St. Geneve is woven at a mill in Italy which has passed down through several generations. The mill only
weaves fabrics from genuine 100% Giza 70 Egyptian Cotton. Giza 70 is essentially one sub-species of Egyptian Cotton and is considered the best
of all 100+ types of Egyptian Cotton.
About Thread Count
With cotton sheeting the highest possible thread count is just over 400. When a fabric is listed as anything higher than 400, red flags
must go up. This means they are actually quoting strand count and this is not the appropriate method. For example we have sheeting materials
with 600 or 1,015 strand count. Transparency is important to us, and as such we correctly market these as 300 and 380 thread count.
