Abyss & Habidecor FAQ
Please note that Abyss & Habidecor lead times have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Normally, these items are air freighted from Portugal to Canada. However, air freight costs have risen considerably during the pandemic. Our shipments must be sent by ocean freight until air freight costs improve. Current lead times on out-of-stock Abyss & Habidecor products is 8-12 weeks. The Mattress & Sleep Company does keep in stock a significant amount of Abyss Super Pile in white and ecru, along with a limited stock in several popular colours. Product InformationAre colour swatches available before ordering?
We keep two complete sets of Super Pile Hand Towels in stock at all times. Simply pick the colour(s) you're interested in and we'll ship out your hand towel(s) to verify colour prior to a larger towel order. If you use the Order Code "TOWELSAMPLE" during check-out, we'll waive the $13.95 fee for shipping that would otherwise normally apply to an order of this size.
When you've confirmed your colours, simply keep the hand towels you've received, or return them for a full refund. The simplest way is for us to send you a return Fedex label with your new towels, so that you simply pop the hand towels back into the same carton, apply the new shipping label and dispatch Fedex.
We find this system works better than swatches as towels are rather messy when cut into pieces, and by shipping you a complete hand towel you can better experience how incredible Abyss towels truly are.Do you offer custom colour matching?

Although we strive for accuracy there are a few variables which are out of our control. Variables such as the colour output of your display device may often work against us. When an exact colour match is required it is always very important to order one hand towel first to ensure accuracy. If you use Order Code "TOWELSAMPLE" during checkout, the customary shipping fee for an order of one single hand towel will be waived.Will the colour of my towels and rugs match?
Abyss towels & Habidecor rugs are made in separate facilities in Portugal. Although they work with the same 60 colours, due to differences in climate and technique a complete match should not be expected. The differences are usually very subtle, with rugs tending to be a touch lighter.Are Abyss towels pre-shrunk?
Yes, Abyss towels are always pre-shrunk, and will never pucker at the ends. What you see in the pictures or on the store shelf is what you'll see on your towel rack after dozens of washings.Help, my towel has a snag, what do I do?
Sometimes a towel will catch on a wedding ring or other obstacle. If pulls or snags should occur, simply snip them off. This will not affect the towel.

Shipping varies by the total cost of your order. All orders of $100 or more qualify for free shipping to nearly anywhere in Canada. To see shipping costs for orders totalling less than $100 please click here.When will my order arrive?
Due to the custom nature of most Abyss & Habidecor products, please allow approximately 4-6 weeks for delivery. Abyss & Habidecor are lovingly crafted in Portugal and are completely worth the wait. Certain popular options, such as Super Pile in White and Ecru are typically on hand here in Canada for quick delivery.
Order PoliciesWhen is my credit card charged?
Due to the custom nature of Abyss & Habidecor products, your credit card is charged in full once your selection is confirmed via email or telephone.Order Cancellation & Change Policy
You may cancel or change your order with no penalty so long as your products have not been ordered from Portugal. Once your order is passed on from St Genève (the Canadian importer) to the manufacturer, cancellations and changes are no longer possible.Can I return an Abyss & Habidecor product?
Returns are accepted only when a product is determined (by the manufacturer directly) to have a manufacturer's defect. Otherwise, The Mattress & Sleep Company is unable to offer returns on any Abyss & Habidecor product due to the custom nature of the majority of their offerings. Please order your free swatches whenever in doubt of the colour.Do you match prices?
The Mattress & Sleep Company will match any authorized Canadian Abyss & Habidecor retailer price. The Sleep Sound Guarantee® also provides you with 120 days of after purchase price protection.Do you match prices south of the border?
Yes, we will match any US dealer price. As Abyss & Habidecor products are made in Portugal they are subject to duty, customs and brokerage fees when being shipped from the USA to Canada. If the USA retailer is not willing to cover these fees in their selling price, we will add these charges to facilitate a fair price comparison.
In our experience we typically find Canadian pricing on Abyss & Habidecor is actually lower once all costs are considered.
