Split Queen Mattresses

Split queen mattresses are a pair of half-queen mattresses placed side by side on one queen bed frame or for use with individual adjustable (articulating) bed frames. Measuring approximately 30 x 80", half queen mattresses are pretty narrow. For this reason, this size must be carefully considered.

Additionally, a split queen is not considered a standard size, which typically requires special ordering of half-queen bedding, including mattress protectors and fitted sheets.

Our Formesse Bella Donna fitted sheets and Bella Donna Clima mattress protectors are made from stretchy, universal-fit materials, making them excellent in-stock choices for half-queen mattresses.

Split king size mattresses are simply a pair of Twin XL (Long Twin) mattresses set side-by-side on one king bed frame or for use with individual adjustable (articulating) bed frames. Measuring approximately 38 x 80", and known by many names including Twin XL, Twin Extra Long, Long Twin and Half King, by quantity, this is our best-selling mattress size.

While this size is usually intended for split king electric adjustable beds, as one half of a split king bed, Twin XL is the perfect size for those who wish to sleep together, yet separately at the same time, even with a traditional flat bed.

We're often asked, "What is the best mattress?" Mattress & Sleep Company believes this can be answered by understanding our philosophy, The Elastic Bed Principle.

Your mattress should be constructed of highly elastic materials for these three straightforward reasons:

1. Elastic materials conform better to the complex shape of the human body.
2. Elastic materials rebound/bounce back to their original shape effortlessly, providing proper support from head to toe —not just the heaviest parts of the body.
3. Elasticity IS support. It is imperative to understand that ‘softness’ and ‘firmness’ are entirely separate metrics and are only loosely related to support. The elastic and conforming response of a softer spring is much more supportive of the human body than the firm, overly stiff support of the floor.
