Care Instructions

Air outdoors for a few hours 2-3 times each year, but never in direct sunlight. May be hand-spot washed in lukewarm water. Use a mild non-alkaline soap or baby shampoo. Do not soak. Be sure to add a little white vinegar to the rinse water. When drying, roll in a towel to extract water. Do not wring the duvet. Please do not bleach, avoid contact with peroxide, hairspray, or perfume, and please do not dry clean.

All About the Wild Tussah Silk Duvet

St Genève silk duvets are filled with Tussah silk because it maintains its form, structure and loft better than Mulberry silk, which is too soft and limp as a duvet filling.

Silk is a soft, luxurious material that drapes well and is much stronger than other textile fibres. Silk is wonderful on warm nights, as it can absorb up to a third of its weight in moisture without feeling damp. It is a cool-feeling fibre, and a great choice for summer months and warmer bedrooms.

Silk will feel slightly heavier than a goose down or wool-filled duvet. It nestles closely around the body, providing a reassuring and evenly distributed weight.

Handmade: St Genève silk duvets are made in China, the world's leading silk producer. The duvets are unique in being carefully hand-layered with many thin layers of silk floss. This layering is what makes a St. Genève silk duvet so fine, yet so comfortable.

About St Genève

Over 50 years ago, St Genève's founder, Michael de la Place, was delighted by the blissful comfort of his parents’ new European down duvet. At the time, duvets were virtually unknown in North America, and Michael fell in love. He learned that there was nothing like being cocooned in a finely crafted down duvet.
