All About the Eiderdown Duvet

The finest duvet in the world.

Eiderdown is the softest and most sumptuous down in existence. It is lighter, warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and unsurpassed for comfort throughout the seasons. Its insulating capacity is so advanced that it is almost intuitive, adjusting perfectly to the person under the duvet. St Genève Eiderdown is hand-collected from birds' nests at Eider Duck sanctuaries. For generations, local farmers have built a special bond with the Eiders, leaving the birds undisturbed and earning their trust implicitly.

While Eiderdown tests at 700 loft, its unique high density (the density of filaments on the down cluster) and cling (the ability to cling to other down clusters) make it insulate at a much, much higher rate. We have found that Eiderdown requires less weight than any other down to achieve the same warmth. It works better than even a 1,000-loft down. For this duvet, St Genève imports a stunning 100% cotton 400 TC jacquard from Germany. It is hand-sewn in its special sealed baffle box construction. The fabric is certified by Oeko-tex® to Standard 100, Class 1, for harmful chemical content. This beautiful heirloom duvet is the epitome of luxury and function combined. They are so rare that more Lamborghini supercars are produced each year than are Eiderdown duvets.

Over 50 years ago, St Genève's founder, Michael de la Place, was delighted by the blissful comfort of his parents’ new European down duvet. At the time, duvets were virtually unknown in North America, and Michael fell in love. He learned that there was nothing like being cocooned in a finely crafted down duvet.

The best money can buy

If you want the best pillow in the world, you want to stick to natural fibers and fill. 1000 Fill White Polish goose down is the highest quality goose down on the market and Eiderdown is the best down on the market. Pure Eiderdown is incredible for duvets but It's not great for pillows since there's not much support. The Eider Luxe's chamber design fixes this and gives you the softest down to rest your head on while giving you necessary support from the amazing goose down. There is no other brand on Earth that provides a pillow made out of these two materials without adding any cheaper feathers and there is no brand on the level of St. Genève when it comes to pillows. I'm proud to own such an incredible pillow.

Heavenly pillow

I was recently browsing for pillows in Canada, and I came across the Eiderdown pillow. I spoke to my wife and tried convincing her that there should be no price limit on a good nights sleep. We've gone through weeks of arguing over having to take out a mortgage on the house to buy one of these pillows. I told her that in life we'll need to make compromises for each other. She reluctantly agreed. I went ahead, placed an order, and within 3 weeks the box arrived. As I opened the box, a literal choir started singing with god rays from the sun pouring in from my sun roof. I have never felt a more plush, comfy, soft, firm, durable, hot, cold, and supportive pillow in my life. This pillow supports me in ways my AA team cant, and even supported me through tough times like bad breakups, and college. Even on the first night when I laid down for the maiden voyage, after my wife started screaming at me because I only ordered 1, this pillow supported me through the first rough nights without her. I've tried asking the pillow for advice, but it hasn't responded with how I should respond to the divorce papers yet.

Soft and Sumptuous - Best in the world

I have always owned eider down comforters. It is the softest and most sumptuous down in existence. It is so light in weight but nothing beats how warm it will keep you. The fact that these comforters can add up to over $7,000.00, look at them as investments. Once you have one you will never find anything better. I must have the eider down pillows too. The firm ones are best. Well worth the investment. The only problem I have is that I can't get out of bed on a cold, winter morning.
